After nearly three years of spreading the Paddington gospel, DC Movie Club is beyond thrilled to partner with Lower Georgia Avenue Main Street for a Paddington themed afternoon! Join us at Hook Hall on Sunday, September 13th from 2-6 PM for a screening of the first two Paddington films, themed crafts and beverages, and community! What you need to know: Doors open at 2PM Paddington (2014) starts at 3:00 PM, and Paddington 2 (2017) starts around 5:00 PM, with a 30 minute intermission in between. Your $20 ticket includes an on-theme cocktail or mocktail (marmalade, anyone?) and a Paddington patch-making tutorial courtesy of Pathworks Studio. All attendees are welcome to bring their own (mess-free) crafts, i.e., crochet, embroidery, knitting etc. Hook Hall also has an extensive menu of both alcoholic and NA beverages, as well as food, so come hungry! FAQ: What does my ticket include? Your ticket grants you access to a community screening of the first two Paddington films, as well as a complimentary cocktail, AND a Paddington themed craft. On top of that, community and friendship! What more could you ask for?? Each ticket directly benefits District Bridges’ Lower Georgia Ave Main Street, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides support to small businesses and brings communities together along the Lower Georgia Avenue commercial corridor. Do I need to buy a ticket even if I only want to come to one of the films? Yes! As mentioned above, your ticket includes lots of great perks beyond the movies, including a beverage, a craft, and supporting a local nonprofit organization! I can only make one of the movies, is that okay? Of course! A double feature can be challenging for folks, so come for what you can! Please just pay attention to the start times of the films you’re planning to attend so you won’t miss any of the excitement or interrupt anyone else's viewing experience. Is this event family friendly? Yes! Hook Hall is open to all ages before 9PM! What time should I show up? Doors open at 2PM, so feel free to come whenever after then to chat and mingle with fellow movie/craft/Paddington/community lovers. See above for exact showtimes for each movie and plan accordingly! What should I wear? I’m so glad you asked! While there is no dress code, Paddington inspired attire is always encouraged.
