Soar Together Family Day: Art in Air and Space
Bring the whole family for a day of hands-on artmaking, lively performances, and interactive experiences that explore how artists have been inspired by flight, space exploration, and the wonder of the skies. Activities include: Listen to a reading of the book, Ablaze with Color: A Story of Painter Alma Thomas, and create art inspired by Alma Thomas Dance and sing along to songs about the science and engineering of aviation, performed by STEMusic Enjoy the play "Professor Wingnut Wants to Fly" by Smithsonian Associates' Discovery Theater Learn how we color the cosmos, using different spectra of light American Sign Language interpretation available for the story time.
